In this episode

  • A DR 71 AI tools directory reporting 94K monthly visits, and by the end of the episode we did not believe the number.
  • Nearly every ranking is someone else's brand name. We checked the live SERPs and found the listings sitting around position ten, buried under site links, image packs, and people also ask boxes.
  • Kevin has more than 90 YouTube videos and 400K views, and exactly four blog posts. The repurposing opportunity practically screamed at us.
  • We found raw code inside an H1 and a resources link in the main nav that leads nowhere.
  • Our verdict: a genuinely strong foundation of links and authority with no content strategy attached to it.

Key findings

  • Almost all traffic goes to tool pages ranking on other brands' names, and live SERP checks for terms like gencraft showed the site at position ten behind site links and image packs, so the estimated clicks are likely far lower than reported.
  • The blog consists of four posts getting zero traffic, there is no central blog hub, and the resources link in the navigation does not resolve to a page.
  • Header structure is a mess: code rendered inside an H1, empty H3s, a hierarchy that jumps from H1 straight to H3, and a 4,000 word glossary crammed into one page.
  • A library of 90 plus YouTube videos with around 400K views sits completely unrepurposed, and one legacy page uses an old template that looks like a different website.
  • The backlink profile is genuinely strong, including edu domains and a Wikipedia mention.

Top action items

  • 1Transcribe and repurpose the YouTube library into proper articles, a Midjourney crash course from beginner to advanced is the obvious first win.
  • 2Do real keyword research with a marketing pro and run a quick technical audit to fix the header issues.
  • 3Add an about page that leverages Kevin already being the face of the brand on YouTube.
  • 4Partner with AI influencers and practitioners on lists like best AI tools for designers or marketers.

What we learned (steal these)

  • Rankings on other brands' names inflate your traffic estimates. Check the live SERP before celebrating, position ten under site links means almost no clicks.
  • If you already make videos, you already have a blog. Transcribe, rewrite, and publish, especially if your whole brand is about AI automation.
  • An affiliate site with a real human face earns trust that anonymous directories never will. If you are already on camera, put yourself on the site.
